Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-07-19
Claxedo is a free, open-source coding-agent workspace built by a small team. These terms cover both the software you download and the optional hosted service. They’re meant to be readable, not a wall of legalese. By using Claxedo, you agree to what’s below.
The software
The Claxedo desktop app is licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute it under that license’s terms. As the MIT License states, the software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. You run it at your own risk.
Because Claxedo drives coding agents that can read, write, and run code on your machine or in your sandboxes, you are responsible for reviewing what agents do. Keep backups. Review diffs before you accept them. We are not responsible for changes an agent makes to your code or systems.
The hosted service
The optional hosted cloud control plane is provided as-is, with no service-level agreement (SLA) at launch. It may be unavailable, slow, or changed without notice. It’s early software from a small team, and we make no uptime or availability guarantees. Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything important.
Acceptable use
Use Claxedo lawfully. Don’t use it to build or run anything illegal, to attack or disrupt others’ systems, to infringe others’ rights, or to abuse the hosted infrastructure (for example, attempting to break isolation, overload the service, or access accounts that aren’t yours). When you connect model providers, you’re also bound by their terms.
Accounts and termination
If you use hosted mode, you’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials safe. You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate hosted access — particularly for abuse or to protect the service — and we may discontinue the hosted service entirely. If we do, the open-source software remains yours to run under the MIT License.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Claxedo and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for data loss, lost profits, or business interruption arising from your use of the software or the hosted service. The software and service are provided without warranty of any kind.
No fees
Claxedo is free at launch. There are no charges and no payment information is collected. If that ever changes, it won’t apply retroactively, and we’ll say so clearly.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. When we do, we’ll update this page and move the effective date forward. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
